Läckö Castle is a vibrant fairytale castle with grand historical rooms, a sensual garden and picturesque surroundings. The castle is open daily May to September, for more information visit www.lackoslott.se.

A castle can be incredibly exciting. We cater for young visitors to Läckö with four different adventures, all specifically tailored to the needs of children. The Little Castle Theatre is designed to be perfectly proportioned for our smallest visitors, while older children can explore secret passages that the adults don’t know about.
Naturum Visitor Centre Vänerskärgården – Victoriahuset
The Naturum Visitor Centre Vänerskärgården – Victoriahuset stands beside Läckö Castle, right out at the tip of Kållandsö island, along the Lake Vänern shore. You will encounter the Lake Vänern archipelago in and outside the centre. Take a journey of discovery through our exhibition. Listen to the animals and plants that populate the archipelago or sit on the jetty deck with binoculars.
At the Naturum Visitor Centre Lake Vänern Archipelago – Victoriahuset there are masses of things for children to do. Study bugs under a magnifier (or why not your own thumb?), scoop up minnows or draw a map of the future. In the exhibition you can accompany the Prince and Princess on a journey of discovery. You can also go on a Quiz-walk, a Nature Reconnaissance or make Christmas decorations out of natural materials. Stash the treasures you found in the woods or by the water in the discovery cabinet. Netting is organised by a teacher every day during the high season. Netting is part of the guided tour for children in the Naturum Visitor Centre, and tickets are available from the reception.
The Vänermuseet houses aquariums and exhibitions. Lake Vänern Museum brings together research, naval history, exciting exhibitions, and a host of childishly enjoyable adventures. Exhibitions portray people's lives through the centuries, both on the shores of Lake Vänern and in the town. It shows how human beings interacted with nature, with fascinating tales recounting the harsh conditions endured by the seamen, and the ups and downs in the everyday of a peasant family.
The children can crawl through passages to the mermaid’s retreat, take the helm of a sailing ship, or delve into the depths of the museum's chamber of horrors. In the aquarium department you’ll encounter several of Lake Vänern’s interesting fish species. The museum shop has a wide selection of souvenirs, as well as a range of organic and Fairtrade products.
