Welcome to Kinnekulle!
Back when Carl Linnaeus visited this 306-metre plateau mountain in the 18th century he praised it profusely and counted it among the most remarkable places in the country. Kinnekulle was formed 500 million years ago and provides an interesting site for today’s geologists. In the grand quarry, for example, you can see 40 metres of Kinnekulle’s immense layers of limestone.
It’s easy to see how it got its nickname “the flowering mountain”, as it boasts a very rich and unique flora. This expression also has a dual sense, since it is a district that blooms with creativity.
