Kinnekulle
Back when Carl Linnaeus visited this 306-metre plateau mountain in the 18th century he praised it profusely and counted it among the most remarkable places in the country. Kinnekulle was formed 500 million years ago and provides an interesting site for today’s geologists. In the grand quarry, for example, you can see 40 metres of Kinnekulle’s immense layers of limestone.
It’s easy to see how it got its nickname “the flowering mountain”, as it boasts a very rich and unique flora. This expression also has a dual sense, since it is a district that blooms with creativity.

Hellekis Trädgårdscafé & Kök
Why not enjoy lunch at Hellekis Trädgårdscafé & Kök, located at Hellekis Manor? The manor’s former orangery, with over 100-year-old vines, is now home to the restaurant. You can sit under the vines and sample our wild-garlic-inspired lunch, or if the weather permits, sit out in the garden and enjoy your meal in the sun.
Kinnekulle observation tower
For those who appreciate expansive views, a visit to Kinnekulle’s observation tower is a must. The tower stands on the top of Kinnekulle and the views are magnificent. The observation tower is also a perfect starting point for any of the wonderful hiking trails on the top of Kinnekulle.
Hellekis Manor – garden
The garden dates way back in time and was mentioned by Carl Linnaeus on his Wästgötaresa (expedition to Västergötland) in 1746. Exotic trees, borders of perennials with 300 different varieties and a magnificent rose garden with old-fashioned roses are just some of the unmissable features.
